Restore Your Smile with Dental Bridges at Promenade Dental.

Just like dentures and implants, dental bridges are a reliable way to replace missing teeth and restore the appearance and function of your smile. A bridge typically consists of an artificial tooth (or teeth) securely positioned between two crowns, spanning the gap left by tooth loss. Because bridges are fixed in place, they offer excellent stability and can only be removed by your dentist, minimising the risk of movement or dislodgement.

Types of Dental Bridges

We offer several types of bridges to suit different needs:

  • Adhesive Bridges – These use a metal “wing” attached to the false tooth and bonded to the back of a neighbouring natural tooth using strong dental adhesive. Ideal for minimal preparation and less invasive treatment.
  • Conventional (Fixed) Bridges – These bridges are supported by crowns placed on the teeth adjacent to the gap. After reshaping these teeth, the bridge is permanently secured in place, offering strength and a natural look.
  • Implant-Retained Bridges – Instead of relying on natural teeth, these bridges are supported by dental implants placed directly into the jawbone. This is a strong, long-lasting solution for multiple missing teeth.

What to Expect During Treatment

Fitting a bridge typically involves two to three appointments:

  • First Visit – Your dentist will prepare the supporting teeth by gently reshaping them, then take impressions to custom-design your bridge. You’ll be fitted with a temporary bridge to protect your gums and teeth while your final restoration is being made.
  • Second Visit – Once your custom bridge is ready, we’ll check the fit, appearance, and bite. A temporary adhesive may be used initially to ensure everything is perfect.
  • Final Visit (if needed) – Once confirmed, your bridge will be permanently cemented in place.

Caring for Your Dental Bridge

With proper care and regular dental check-ups, your bridge can last up to 15 years or more. It’s important to clean around and underneath your bridge to prevent decay and gum disease. Our team will guide you through the best cleaning techniques and oral hygiene practices to protect your investment and keep your smile healthy.
